Hmm, today I really have a delicious lunch or dinner for you, and it’s also simple and quick to make! I’m sure you already have everything you need for this, unless you don’t like fish, but the tuna in this recipe can easily be replaced with meat or more vegetables.
Sometimes while cooking I’ll come up with very tasty recipes, and I want to make them as soon as possible! Recently, the idea came to me to make another delicious pasta dish with vegetables, fish and bechamel! So that was what I did, and it was a feast for my taste buds!
Luis is someone who loves to eat spinach, not because he likes it but because he feels he needs it for his body. I often make an omelette with spinach and lemon, but of course I don’t want to make the same thing every time. That’s why I always want to come up with new combinations with spinach!
This meal is another perfect way to show that cooking and preparing delicious meals doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult. Usually, you will already have all kinds of ingredients at home to make something like this. So let’s get started!
Ingredients
Filling
- 6 eggs
- 250 gr spinach
- 250 g pasta penne
- 100 gr grated cheese
- 250 gr canned tuna (pulled chicken is also possible)
- butter for greasing
Bechamel
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 450 ml milk (depending on how thick you want your bechamel)
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- salt
- pepper
- 2 tablespoons of butter
Preparation
Cook your pasta al dente, rinse with cold water and drain. Let the spinach thaw well in advance in a colander to remove all the moisture. Boil your eggs however you like and peel them.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, on the grill setting. Grease a baking dish with butter and place the pasta in it. The spinach goes on top of that. Crumble the tuna and a handful of cheese on top of the spinach and add some salt and pepper.
Melt the butter in another pan and add the flour. Stir very well with a fork until it forms a paste and then carefully add the milk little by little. Stir until there are no more lumps. Increase the heat so that it becomes a thicker batter.
Then add the nutmeg, crushed garlic, salt and pepper. It’s up to you to leave it a thicker bechamel, or to make it thinner. We are lovers of thick bechamel sauce, especially for these types of oven dishes.
Place the eggs over the tuna and cheese. Pour over the bechamel and sprinkle it with cheese and a little fresh pepper. Place the dish in the oven for about 20 minutes, until a crust forms. Then remove the dish from the oven and serve it with a green salad!
Voilà, a delicious and easy oven dish that everyone will like!
The result
Delicious, that’s the word for this dish! And if you don’t like tuna, you can easily replace it with pulled chicken or any other type of meat. But then of course you won’t get that delicious tuna melt effect!
We like to eat pasta and vegetables from the oven here at home, but we don’t do it often enough. I am always so busy creating and making new dishes that I don’t often make time for the old classics. But you can certainly count on more dishes like this to come!
Have a nice day, my friends, keep enjoying good food!
